Wei Ji is a crossing not yet completed: the direction is clear and the essential parts are moving, but final order has not formed. It asks for judgment near the finish, where almost done can easily be mistaken for already safe.

The matter is in transition, finalization, or just before a crucial launch. Some parts are working, but the whole can still fail through poor sequence. Coordination and the last steps matter most now.

九四：贞吉，悔亡；震用伐鬼方，三年有赏于大国。
Resolute long-term work against a stubborn problem does not pay immediately, but it can earn substantial recognition.
六五：贞吉，无悔；君子之光，有孚，吉。
Integrity and clarity maintained before completion make the light credible and visible. The outcome moves toward good fortune.
上九：有孚于饮酒，无咎；濡其首，有孚失是。
You may trust the progress and celebrate moderately, but excess relaxation can lose the measure at the final moment.
A common misreading
Wei Ji is not failure or permanent incompletion. The system is still changing, and final care and sequencing determine whether potential becomes actual completion.
